I making this topic and poll to see how many people on this site like anime or not and also the people who like anime.

Questions:
1.What genres do of anime do u like?
2.How do u chose what animes to watch?
3.Do check out the series manga and why do u check it out?
4.Do u search for a summary of the anime before you watch it and why?
5.What are your top 3 -5 anime?

My answers:
1.Well i like watch most animes, eg fan services (ecchi), action, mech, magic animes like that.
2.By reading the reviews and comments on the sites i use which are www.anime-media.com and www.instantz.net and i also wiki the anime or manga.
3.I watch the anime and if i like i check out the manga if the series has one and see if the manga continues on from the anime or is completely different .
4.I do search for a summary for the anime after i read the reviews and comments other people have made and if i think it insteresting i use wiki.
5.My top 5 animes are;
1 - Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed: Destiny.
2 - Gundam 00 session 2 (Session 1 was shit and boring).
3 - Rosario & Vampire Capu1 & Capu2 (Capu1 is session 1 and Capu2 is session 2) - i recommend reading the manga for the real story the anime is purely for fan service.
4 - Soul eaters.
5 - Zero no Tsukaima (all 3 session + 4th session when it comes out)

I like anime quite a bit. I don't know why though... It might just be my asian genes kicking in though. 
Anyways,
1. My preferred genre in anime is action. But I don't mind watching any other anime. In fact, I will basically watch an anime for the story. Whatever it may be. So it would be any genre. The story just better be good or I'm gonna really hate it and the ending better be good to. If it's a piece of crap, then I hate the entire anime, even if it was good.

2. I dunno... I guess I just stumble upon animes. For example, I recently started watching Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens because I was looking up sheet music and found a youtube video about it w/ the opening theme on a piano. So I decided to look it up and watch. I also happen to like it.

3. Depends on if I want to know what differences there are. I haven't done that yet though I have been told a few sequences in Naruto is different from its manga counterpart.

4. If I feel like I need to. Usually I do, because as stated before, I like a good story and if it isn't good well I won't waste my time. And I don't base my opinions on other people's opinions. I take what sounds correct in a review and try to see if I would like it based on a few things they say about it because you never know if you'll like it or not. Unless of course the entire world says it's bad. Then I just don't even bother.

5. Hnh... I guess
  1 - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
  2 - Gundam Seed
  3 - Fullmetal Alchemist (personally I liked the ending which led to the movie which I also liked)
  4 - Naruto Shippuden (I prefer shippuden to the first series for one reason. Naruto is less of a dumbass and more of a hero)
  5 - Kannagi
I would have put Bleach in there, but I'm in the US so it's kind of dragging right now.

1.) I like action,magic, fantasies, etc...

2.) I usually just do a search on Google or youtube for anime or my 15 year old daughter will be watching an anime episode and I will end up watching it with her..lol

3.) I don't read the Manga's as much as I watch because to me it just spoils the fun of watching. Because then you would know what's going on with the episode, I hope I am making sense....lol

4.) No, I just do a search for the episode and most of the time they have a snypnosis of it. If I do it is because I need the title for that episode if I am going to burn it to DVD.

5.) My top 5 Animes are:

Action, scifi, mecha, fantasy. Those are my top ones but I like most anime types.

People recommend or I hear good things about them, something in a screenshot catches my eye, or I get bored and say "well I've never watched this one before".

Sometimes, if it's a really good anime but it ended abruptly I'll check out the manga to see if there is more to the story.

No, it tends to ruin the experience.

Anime must be either raw (Japanese) or at the very least subtitled, people that dub anime in english should be flogged, drawn and quartered, hung then fed to wild pigs.

Quite  That's understandable though  I wouldn't say all dubbed animes are bad. I thought Karas was done quite well. I've only seen the movie version of it though.

Back on topic:
Questions:
1.I like...comedy, ecchi, romantic comedy, dramedy, and just comedy in general.
2.With a little help from everything. Though, mostly by dling the first ep or two, and seeing how it is. Although, to be quite honest, I mostly find out about anime from places like Gelbooru or Danbooru
3.Sometimes, but not usually. Mainly because it's a pain to read all of that after watching the series. I know it's usually much better, but I just like watching animation more sometimes. Which can give much more colorful and exaggerated expressions. The unusual time that I do this, is if I've finished an anime, and it just seems so empty of conclusion, and I read that the manga actually gives more of a conclusion.

Yes ovcourse, I generally want to know what type of story it has, I'm not going to watch something without having any knowledge of what it is. I can't understand why people wouldn't read a summary or watch a trailer.

Questions:
1. I like a lot of futuristic action anime, but steam punk is cool too.

2. What I don't own in DVD's I get on torrents.

3. I enjoy reading a lot more than I like watching TV, and like with Fullmetal Alchemist, the stories can be different depending on the media, sometimes you see more violence in the manga versions. I like picking up manga first, but sometimes I'll get involved in a series and want to check out a manga and vice versa, like I said before, I do it because I like reading better. If I'm told the anime and manga stories will be exactly the same I'll go for manga

4. Generally no, I just go by what I think of the name, or trust the people that recommend it, or if I see it's by BONES I'll test it out.

1 : I prefer anime with deep plots, not too much, but awesome action and a limited amount of episodes (screw One Piece )
2 : Guess I listen to what other people have to say about an anime, if it's positive, I give it a try.
3: No I don't, but I do plan on reading the manga for Naruto the next time they start with fillers.
4: No, but I do look for more background information.
5: Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto Shippuuden and Hajime no Ippo. Ninja Scroll was a pretty good movie too, if that counts.
